SR: Trasant (Drawer) je fizičko ili pravno lice koje kreira, potpisuje i izdaje prenosivu hartiju od vrednosti, kao što je ček ili menica, dajući time nalog trasatu (najčešće finansijskoj instituciji) da isplati specifičnu sumu novca trećoj strani, odnosno remitentu (payee). Kada trasat formalno prihvati ovaj instrument, on dobija status akceptanta i preuzima primarnu odgovornost za izvršenje isplate primaocu.
